Definition
AEO/GEO context
Buyer Framing supports the AEO/GEO topic graph by clarifying the language, risks, workflows, or sources that affect how AI systems discover, compare, and explain brands.
Expanded definition
Buyer framing asks whether the answer helps the buyer understand fit, tradeoffs, risks, alternatives, and next steps. It is more specific than generic brand sentiment. This concept is most useful when it is evaluated from the buyer's point of view. A mention only has value if the answer explains the brand accurately, places it in the right category, and gives the buyer enough context to understand the tradeoffs.
Why it matters
AI answers can shape shortlists and objections by defining which criteria matter before a buyer reaches a website.
Example
An answer frames a tool as best for startups, which weakens enterprise consideration even if the brand is mentioned positively.
Common mistake
Assuming favorable language is useful if it does not match the buyer question.
